About Us
For decades now, Old South Lures has produced the highest quality lures on the market. New Owners- Mark Sloan and Allison Redman of North Arkansas, are continuing with those same ol' handwritten recipes, the same quality ingredients, and the same goal- to promote the successful and responsible harvest of wildlife.
Mark personally mixes and bottles each product that leaves the shop. Trust us, Allison supervises him doing so. LOL. You can rest assured that when you use Old South you are still using the best.

"Many of you may recognize me from the many times I’ve been fortunate enough to walk across stage at my pro fishing events over the past few years. Fishing has been a huge pastime of mine, but it wasn’t my first passion.

My brother and I started trapping when I was 14 — wow, to think that was over 20 years ago now. Ha. What began as two curious kids trying to outsmart a few coons in the creek turned into a lifelong respect for wildlife management and conservation.

Over the years, I’ve learned that being an outdoorsman isn’t just about the catch — it’s about understanding the ecosystem and knowing when to step in to help maintain balance. Whether it’s relocating a beaver that’s flooding a pasture, or safely removing a predator threatening livestock, every job is about protecting both people and the land.
Through our recent purchase of Old South Lures, I’m proud to continue that mission. I’m fully licensed and permitted through the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, and I also hold authorizations that allow me to trap in Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Illinois, Indiana, and Oklahoma. I understand that we all are after various forms and mutations of the same critters, but what is magical about Old South products... they are the same ones I used 20+ years ago, and they are the same high quality essence that drives a Northern Illinois critter wild, just the same as it does one here in Arkansas, or back where it all began in Morton, MS.
I look forward to sharing some of our projects, stories from the field, and a few hard-earned lessons along the way. Thanks for following along — and for supporting responsible wildlife management in the Ozarks and beyond."
