Some of you may recognize me from the many times I’ve been fortunate enough to walk across stage at my pro fishing events over the past few years. Fishing has been a huge part of my life, but it wasn’t my first passion.
My brother and I started trapping when I was 14 — wow, to think that was almost 20 years ago now. Ha. What began as two curious kids trying to outsmart a few coons in the creek turned into a lifelong respect for wildlife management and conservation.
Over the years, I’ve learned that being an outdoorsman isn’t just about the catch — it’s about understanding the ecosystem and knowing when to step in to help maintain balance. Whether it’s relocating a beaver that’s flooding a pasture, or safely removing a predator threatening livestock, every job is about protecting both people and the land.
Now- Through our purchase of Old South Lures, I am proud to continue that mission, especially with a brand that I have used and stood by for decades. I am fully licensed and permitted through the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, and I also hold authorizations that allow me to trap in Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Illinois, Indiana, and Oklahoma.
